Building Schools for the Future (BSF)

- Blackburn with Darwen Council appointed NAA to undertake a strategic review of their leisure and culture facility infra-structure to inform the authority's BSF Strategy for Change submission. The strategy was critical in shaping BSF across the borough and is now being held up as an example of good practice by PfS.
- Following the strategic work NAA was retained to advise the Council on the community use options under BSF.
- NAA has worked with PE and Sport Stakeholder Groups to develop strategic facility proposals; setting out both school and community needs and a win-win scenario on behalf of Doncaster, Rochdale and Halton.
- Sport England (East Midlands) commissioned NAA to develop a protocol for the 'better' engagement of sport in BSF from wave 6 onwards. The work provided the basis for the work programme for the new regional BSF officer.
- The Arts Council for England and Museums and Libraries Association commissioned NAA to develop a BSF toolkit, to support better engagement by the cultural sector in the BSF process.
- NAA supported Lancashire Sport through a series of workshops designed to engage the governing bodies of sport in the BSF process.
- NAA has also acted as a specialist leisure advisor to bidding consortium to ensure the benefits of BSF in transforming PE and Sport are maximised to the full.
